Sparkling Wine
The life of the Giavi farm started as early as 900 AD and Prosecco has been made there since 1914.
The vineyards cover an area of around 12 hectares on a hillside overlooking the town of Conegliano. The majority of the harvest is done by hand and the quality of the resulting wine is high, full of purity and freshness of fruit, making these very much boutique wines.
First rate Prosecco from the heart of the zone most famous for this charming and accessible bubbly.
Producer notes ~ The GIAVI estate takes its name from Francesco Giavi who acquired this charming property from the family Tezza in the early 20th century. It is located at a stone’s throw from the town of Conegliano, on the hill of Monticella overlooking the town itself. Francesco Giavi, born in Venas di Cadore in the province of Belluno, resided in New York for most of his time and it’s from there that he imported Italian products and wines. While in Italy he gave a remarkable impulse to agricultural activities, his greatest passion, that he passed on with enthusiasm and great care. The estate has developed significantly in recent years and is led by the Moschetta family since 2015. The vineyards are set on the hill of Monticella overlooking the town of Conegliano, home of the first Italian Oenological School established in 1876. This hill has been source of inspiration for centuries: from its top the famous artist Cima da Conegliano took inspiration to paint some of his most valuable works. It’s from here that his artistic ability reached the best expression with the painting of Sant’ Elena exhibited at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. Behind the Saint stands the Castle of Conegliano, on the left the one of Susegana and other significant elements that represent the town of Conegliano such as “Ponte della Madonna”, the Monticano river and the historical downtown.
